Two hundred years ago our Founding Fathers gave us a democracy. It was based upon the simple yet noble idea that government derives its validity from the consent of the governed.

Government is force pure and simple. There's no way to sugar-coat that. And because government is force it will attract the worst elements of society - people who want to use government to avoid having to earn their living and to avoid having to persuade others to accept their ideas voluntarily.

By making bold cuts in spending and commonsense entitlement reforms we will make our government simpler smaller and smarter.

Destiny is a good thing to accept when it's going your way. When it isn't don't call it destiny call it injustice treachery or simple bad luck.

A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example.

What the people want is very simple - they want an America as good as its promise.

We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.

Man must feel the earth to know himself and recognize his values... God made life simple. It is man who complicates it.

God's plan for enlarging His kingdom is so simple - one person telling another about the Savior. Yet we're busy and full of excuses. Just remember someone's eternal destiny is at stake. The joy you'll have when you meet that person in heaven will far exceed any discomfort you felt in sharing the gospel.

God is a metaphor for that which transcends all levels of intellectual thought. It's as simple as that.

When the solution is simple God is answering.

We can do things the cheap way the simple way for the short-term and without regard for the future. Or we can make the extra effort do the hard work absorb the criticism and make decisions that will cause a better future.

Deficits mean future tax increases pure and simple. Deficit spending should be viewed as a tax on future generations and politicians who create deficits should be exposed as tax hikers.

But with comedy it's a simple premise. If it's funny people laugh. If it's not they don't.

I think I have an inner confidence that my tastes are pretty simple that what I find funny finds a wide audience. I'm not particularly intellectual or clever or minority-focused in my creative instincts. And I'm certainly not aware of suppressing more sophisticated ambitions.

If you are a great dramatic actor then you often don't know if people are enjoying your stuff at all because they are sitting there in silence. But with comedy it's a simple premise. If it's funny people laugh. If it's not they don't.

It's simple if it jiggles it's fat.

When the world is so complicated the simple gift of friendship is within all of our hands.

The real test of friendship is: can you literally do nothing with the other person? Can you enjoy those moments of life that are utterly simple?

Three simple words - freedom justice and honesty. These sum up what the Liberal Democrats stand for.

So why am I facing a recall election? Simple: the big government union bosses from Washington want their money. They don't like the fact that I did something fundamentally pro-worker something that's truly about freedom.

It is not the simple statement of facts that ushers in freedom it is the constant repetition of them that has this liberating effect. Tolerance is the result not of enlightenment but of boredom.

All the great things are simple and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom justice honor duty mercy hope.

The truth is I love being alive. And I love feeling free. So if I can't have those things then I feel like a caged animal and I'd rather not be in a cage. I'd rather be dead. And it's real simple. And I think it's not that uncommon.
