I had actually been on tour in Japan and I had my own world tour that I was doing. I was used to doing a show for an hour so I was always learning choreography.

I wanted to get to that aesthetic proposition that comes out of learning the human elements of a world so that those notes and rhythms mean something to you besides just the academic way in which they fall in place.

That is what I'm looking forward to the most practical learning. I want to be a registered nurse so getting to talk to people who already work in those jobs can really teach me what to expect when I get out in the real world.

The school made it very clear that women were entitled to positions of authority. That sense of entitlement allowed us to feel that we have a natural place in leadership in the world. That gave me a mental and emotional confidence.
