I haven't really decided to be an actor yet! I started doing plays when I was about 15 or 16. I only did it because my dad saw a bunch of pretty girls in a restaurant and he asked them where they came from and they said drama group. He said 'Son that is where you need to go.'

My dad was always such a frustrated artist. He always worked very hard to support his family doing a bunch of ridiculous jobs. He wanted to be a painter but then he also wrote science-fiction novels in his spare time.

It's just really making sure I am doing the best job I can do as a dad. I do think that is my No. 1 job.

Before breaking into music I had various jobs: forklift driver driving a courier. But I was forced into working rather than doing it off my own bat because that was my dad's way: you got a job and paid your way.

When I was in school I read a lot of comic books and pretend I was in them and kids would tease me and call me names. But now I do the same things and people say that I'm artistic and cool and I'm doing the exact same thing I did in high school.

My sister and I said Dad are you doing to do anything about that? And he mentioned treatments other people sent him that he'd been working on. So we thought it would be kind of cool to give these guys a real script.

I'm getting a lot of stick because my character in 'Young Dracula' wanted to be vampire so now that I am a vampire everyone's like 'You finally did it!' But it's cool and I loved doing 'Young Dracula.' That show's finished and I don't know why it ended so it was brilliant to go into 'Being Human ' which is like the adult version of it.

I am a very open social friendly person and when it comes to people approaching me and asking for an autograph I am totally cool with doing any of that. It's a lot of fun.

I used to skip out of high school and go flying. It was just one of those things I thought it was kind of a cool thing to do. I never thought about doing that as a profession but I started checking things out and I found out there was a flight school down in Daytona Beach called Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
