Feminism is a word that I identify with. The term has become synonymous with vitriolic man-hating but it needs to come back to a place where both men and women can embrace it. It is particularly important for women in developing countries.

When I am cast in a movie where I feel that the woman's part is more interesting I usually start thinking about Spencer Tracy and Fred Astaire. They seem to be the most clear actors when working with women.

Women can go on marrying and pretending that their boyfriends and husbands are Mr. Darcy or some RomCom dream man. But where's that going to get 'em? Besides divorce court?

With over 3 million women battling breast cancer today everywhere you turn there is a mother daughter sister or friend who has been affected by breast cancer.

Some men have a silly theory about beautiful women - that somewhere along the line they'll turn into a monster. That movie gave them a chance to watch it happen.

Women speak because they wish to speak whereas a man speaks only when driven to speak by something outside himself like for instance he can't find any clean socks.

A women knows how to keep quiet when she is in the right whereas a man when he is in the right will keep on talking.

And verily a woman need know but one man well in order to understand all men whereas a man may know all women and understand not one of them.

For any of us in this room today let's start out by admitting we're lucky. We don't live in the world our mothers lived in our grandmothers lived in where career choices for women were so limited.

All places where women are excluded tend downward to barbarism but the moment she is introduced there come in with her courtesy cleanliness sobriety and order.

I remember when the wave of Jennifer Lopez Salma Hayek and these beautiful Hispanic women came into light and I looked up to them and I loved them but I was like 'Where are Middle Eastern women?'

There is a real vulgarity in the way women dress at the moment. They show off too much and try too hard. They don't understand where the line is between sexy and vulgar. I know where that line is.

We are victims of evil customs. It is a crime against humanity that our women are shut up within the four walls of the houses as prisoners. There is no sanction anywhere for the deplorable condition in which our women have to live.

I hate women because they always know where things are.

I grew up in the Bronx where you would stay up late with your girlfriends just being silly in our bedrooms whatever. And I was always the clown.

America is a land where men govern but women rule.

I think that maybe if women and children were in charge we would get somewhere.

What could be more lonely than to be enveloped in silence to be the last of your people to speak your native tongue to have no way to pass on the wisdom of the elders to anticipate the promise of the children. This tragic fate is indeed the plight of someone somewhere roughly every two weeks.

Books give not wisdom where none was before. But where some is there reading makes it more.

Where fear is present wisdom cannot be.

This land which we have watered with our tears and our blood is now our mother country and we are well satisfied to stay where wisdom abounds and gospel is free.

There's the conventional wisdom of which I have none where you get a record deal you get a publicist you get a campaign and you do the tour but none of that adds up to things like nuance and subtlety and dynamic.

I always see where I didn't do things the right way. I only see the heavy lifting. That's a bit of my wisdom if you want to call it that.

The Divine wisdom has given us prayer not as a means whereby to obtain the good things of earth but as a means whereby we learn to do without them not as a means whereby we escape evil but as a means whereby we become strong to meet it.
