So Bush certainly wasn't the greatest and Obama has not done the job. And he's created a lot of disincentive. He's created a lot of great dissatisfaction. Regulations and regulatory is going through the roof. It's almost impossible to get anything done in the country.

No great deed is done by falterers who ask for certainty.

I'm sad to report that in the past few years ever since uncertainty became our insistent 21st century companion leadership has taken a great leap backwards to the familiar territory of command and control.

Resolve not to be poor: whatever you have spend less. Poverty is a great enemy to human happiness it certainly destroys liberty and it makes some virtues impracticable and others extremely difficult.

There is a kind of elevation which does not depend on fortune it is a certain air which distinguishes us and seems to destine us for great things it is a price which we imperceptibly set upon ourselves.

The government for example has determined that black people (somehow) have fewer abilities than white people and so must be given certain preferences. Anyone acquainted with both black and white people knows this assessment is not only absurd but monstrous. And yet it is the law.

Well you know I - again even in the context of BP I wonder about this government's priorities. The federal government's top priority right now should be the cleanup. And BP certainly has done so many things wrong. They need to be held to account.

If you think of yourselves as helpless and ineffectual it is certain that you will create a despotic government to be your master. The wise despot therefore maintains among his subjects a popular sense that they are helpless and ineffectual.

I think there are certain folks in Missouri that don't trust government. And they haven't trusted government for a long time.

But whether the Constitution really be one thing or another this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case it is unfit to exist.

I'm not really conservative. I'm conservative on certain things. I believe in less government. I believe in fiscal responsibility and all those things that maybe Republicans used to believe in but don't any more.

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive.

Certainly it seems true enough that there's a good deal of irony in the world... I mean if you live in a world full of politicians and advertising there's obviously a lot of deception.

What does kissing really mean to me? To me if you feel when you kiss a girl that certain feeling of all those dolphins like swimming through your blood stream and you get those good tingles inside your stomach I don't think there's any better feeling.

When times are tough and people are frustrated and angry and hurting and uncertain the politics of constant conflict may be good but what is good politics does not necessarily work in the real world. What works in the real world is cooperation.

It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are thoroughly alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good and we must hunger after them.

But this will not do God will certainly punish you for stealing and for being unfaithful.

Well I'll put it this way: you can certainly say belief in God makes people behave worse. That can be proved beyond a doubt.
