New England is the home of all that is good and noble with all her sternness and uncompromising opinions.
I think you have to be a little bit strict. You can't be friend and their parent in a lot of situations especially in this day and age where it's so dangerous for kids. So there's a bit of sternness I guess in the way I raise my kids.
When I'm writing I'm constantly thinking about myself because it's the only experience I have to draw on. And I don't see an exact reflection of myself in every face in the audience but I know that my songs have validity to them and that's why the fans are there.
