When I was a little kid all I wanted to do was to escape what I thought was the country and get to a city. Probably film and television had influenced me so much I really thought the key to happiness was living a very artificial life in a penthouse in New York with martini glasses.
I realized that I loved using computers to create something but being an architect just wasn't going to keep me interested. The idea of a life spent obsessing over bathroom details for an Upper East Side penthouse was pretty depressing.
I'm delighted about the track's success in the sports world but the frustrating thing is I don't think I got rich on it. The labels and publishers did very cheap deals on our songs.
