Religion is the impotence of the human mind to deal with occurrences it cannot understand.
Occurrences in this domain are beyond the reach of exact prediction because of the variety of factors in operation not because of any lack of order in nature.
Nevertheless whether in occurrences lasting days hours or mere minutes at a time I have experienced happiness often and have had brief encounters with it in my later years even in old age.
The general tendency of things throughout the world is to render mediocrity the ascendant power among mankind.
