I learnt pity sympathy and what it was like to be at the other end of the stick. Such lessons can't be learnt in lecture halls.

Today the people from my State of Tennessee would listen to this debate or even talk about a reference to God on our money or in the Halls of Congress or in our Pledge and say please let common sense and logic win the day and prevail versus legal mumbo jumbo.

I think there is a new awareness in this 21st century that design is as important to where and how we live as it is for museums concert halls and civic buildings.

I have seen in the Halls of Congress more idealism more humanness more compassion more profiles of courage than in any other institution that I have ever known.
