Like every other good thing in this world leisure and culture have to be paid for. Fortunately however it is not the leisured and the cultured who have to pay.
Until he lost all his money my father was a successful north London Jewish businessman. He was unusual among his immediate family in that he was enormously cultured and had an incredible library.
Most of my relationships were people in the business. Having said that me and Tim don't really talk that much about work. He comes into my bit of the house every so often to vent but we don't really have very high cultured conversations.
I get so nervous on stage I can't help but talk. I try. I try telling my brain: stop sending words to the mouth. But I get nervous and turn into my grandma. Behind the eyes it's pure fear. I find it difficult to believe I'm going to be able to deliver.
