The EU is not a country and it's not going to become a country in my view now or ever in the future. It is a group of countries working together.

After the Berlin Wall came down I visited that city and I will never forget it. The abandoned checkpoints. The sense of excitement about the future. The knowledge that a great continent was coming together. Healing those wounds of our history is the central story of the European Union.

My theme is going to be: Together we can win the future. The right policies lead to the right results. And I'm going to argue that President Obama will lose the future because the wrong policies lead to the wrong results.

It's funny because I never think of myself as Little Miss All-Together.

It is easy for me to love myself but for ladies to do it is another question altogether.

There's a great power in words if you don't hitch too many of them together.

Sympathy constitutes friendship but in love there is a sort of antipathy or opposing passion. Each strives to be the other and both together make up one whole.

American movies and music deliver themes of freedom innocence and power that appeal to others - partly because America itself was put together out of a multiplicity of national traditions.

After the tragedy New Yorkers are more united than ever in their vision as well as in appreciation what living in freedom means - and that if we stand together we can accomplish anything.

Take young researchers put them together in virtual seclusion give them an unprecedented degree of freedom and turn up the pressure by fostering competitiveness.

True freedom is the capacity for acting according to one's true character to be altogether one's self to be self-determined and not subject to outside coercion.

Fortunately somewhere between chance and mystery lies imagination the only thing that protects our freedom despite the fact that people keep trying to reduce it or kill it off altogether.

The only way that has ever been discovered to have a lot of people cooperate together voluntarily is through the free market. And that's why it's so essential to preserving individual freedom.

We the People recognize that we have responsibilities as well as rights that our destinies are bound together that a freedom which only asks what's in it for me a freedom without a commitment to others a freedom without love or charity or duty or patriotism is unworthy of our founding ideals and those who died in their defense.

Hopefully imparting what's important to me respect for the food and that information about the purveyors people will realize that for a restaurant to be good so many pieces have to come together.

And on a Canadian set everybody is equal. You get paid the same. You live together in barracks. You have a communal kitchen. You buy and cook your own food.

This June I'll travel once again to the Food and Wine Magazine Classic in Aspen Colorado. For many years my dear friend Julia Child and I have teamed up to teach classes together at the event for the past seven years my daughter Claudine has been my cooking partner on stage.

I'm the only girl on The Food Network who grills - I have two bestselling grilling books. I try to really focus on what men and women can do outside together out on the grill. I think it's really fun to have men and women out there together having fun working and enjoying themselves.

From the simple stringing together of lemon garlands for the goddess Durga to dividing the prasadam or blessed foods for the children first I came to associate food not only with feminity but also with purity and divinity.

There is no reasoning no process of inference or comparison there is no thinking about things no putting two and two together there are no ideas - the animal does not think of the box or of the food or of the act he is to perform.

Food brings people together on many different levels. It's nourishment of the soul and body it's truly love.
