Today we know that World War II began not in 1939 or 1941 but in the 1920's and 1930's when those who should have known better persuaded themselves that they were not their brother's keeper.
Man can certainly flee from God... but he cannot escape him. He can certainly hate God and be hateful to God but he cannot change into its opposite the eternal love of God which triumphs even in his hate.
